About

At Adelaide Blood Specialists we provide holistic, informed and personalised care to all of our clients. Our team of clinical and laboratory trained haematologists work hard to deliver the best treatment for their patients in the management of haematological disorders.

Q & A

Why did you start this?

This is a reactivation of the consultation clinic run by a number of Royal Adelaide Hospital haematologists for many years independent of the RAH  Haematology outpatient clinic.  The personalised service was appreciated by many patients and referring doctors and yet a relationship with the RAH was maintained. This clinic was incorporated into the new RAH clinic when the hospital moved in 2017.  Since then many patients have told us they missed the friendly relationship with the practice staff and the constant relationship to a specific haematologist. Many privately insured patients would like the option of having tests and procedures done in the community instead of having to go to the RAH for everything.  That motivated us to set up this Practice.

What is different to visiting other places?

The Adelaide Blood Specialists Practice is located just opposite RAH.  Free parking is available in the commercial carpark behind the building and public transport including tram, train and bus services are close by.  It is on the same floor as the Benson Radiology Practice so it is convenient when radiology tests are required. Pathology services provided by SA Pathology and Clinpath are also easily accessed with clinics located at the RAH site.

What unique skillsets does this group of doctors have?

Individually the partners are experts in different fields covering both clinical and laboratory haematology and also malignant and non-malignant haematology.  At the same time, we work closely with one another so that our patients receive the best advice.  Since we are also connected to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, our patients have access to both the public and the community hospital systems.  Our Royal Adelaide Hospital connections also means that our patients have access to the latest clinical trials and special access drug programs.  We also have access to a large range of supportive services and information.

How do you treat your patients?

Our patients best interests, in a holistic sense, is our primary philosophy and aim.
